Second grader Logan Beard (24th overall) led the way for Harmony Boys in a field of 238 runners running the 1 mile course in 6:52.38 just ahead of his brother Mason who finished (31st overall) with a time of 6:56.18. Chris McDearman had a strong showing ran next for Harmony with a time of 7:00.65. Completing the scoring for the Harmony Boys were Dylan Yates (42nd) and Alex McClarty (55th). Goshen Elementary Boys won the meet followed by Hite, Highlands Latin School, and Centerfield. The most encouraging news was that Harmony was only 10 points away from being 3rd in team scoring in a very competitive field. Coach Hammons believes Goshen and Hite are the two best 5th grade and unders teams in the state. I believed those were the two teams to beat going into the year and they both proved me right. Our job is to get better every week to try and close the gap. Our coaches were proud of how the Boys responded to the first meet of the year.
